Born and raised in Galway, Ireland, but settled in California, my two homes have played a huge part in guiding my research interests.
As a community ecologist and anthropologist, I am broadly interested in how humans affect ecosystems through culture and domesticated animals. My most recent work looks at how cattle, and people's movement of cattle, interact with wildlife and plant communities. Cattle and ranching culture are integral parts of not just Ireland and the US Southwest, but of many cultures around the world. |
